With the aim of strengthening its power line, Lipigas Companies announced this Thursday the creation of a subsidiary dedicated exclusively to this business. This will group and develop activities related to electrical energy such as the commercialization of electrical energy, the provision of energy efficiency services, renewable electricity generation, advice on electrical projects and others.

Under the name EVOL SpA, the subsidiary will be in charge of the company’s current electricity business manager, Valerie Barnich, who will continue to lead the growth of this axis, which is part of the strategic plan of Empresas Lipigas.

“The step we are taking with the creation of EVOL is very important in our roadmap to become a carbon neutral company, which implies the development of new products and energy solutions that facilitate the sustainable growth of the company in parallel with our core business”, said Ángel Mafucci, general manager of Empresas Lipigas. “We are confident that EVOL will allow us to deepen our electricity offer to new segments and customers, in addition to contributing to caring for the environment, in line with the trend of the industry worldwide,” he added.

It should be remembered that in 2017 Lipigas Companies entered the electricity business with the start-up of its first Small Distributed Generation Facility (PMGD), located in the Valparaíso region, and then in 2020 created the Electricity Business management. In September 2021 Lipigas acquired 80% of Four Trees Energía Distribuida SpA, which operates 19 photovoltaic solar plants with a total capacity of 3.6 MW in Chile.
