Empresas Lipigas announced its arrival to Central America, after signing an agreement with the Dominican Republic company Plater Investment to acquire 51% of the property of this entity for an amount close to USD 3.1 million. The operation is subject to the approvals of the control bodies of this Central American country and it is estimated that all applicable requirements will be completed within the next few months.

“This purchase is due to our strategy of increasing the geographical and product diversification of Empresas Lipigas, with a growing presence in Latin America. We see the opportunity to add new businesses together with local strategic partners in attractive markets due to their high growth potential in LNG consumption, where there are emerging industrial zones, such as Central America. To this is added that natural gas comes from the United States to that region at a very competitive price”, said Ángel Mafucci, general manager of Empresas Lipigas.

Plater distribuye 27 millones de m3 de gas natural en República Dominicana y otros países.

“We are entering Central America with a proven model in Chile, where we have consistently increased our sales of LNG to high consumption industries, which we supply with trucks. We have decades of experience in logistics and distribution, which has allowed us to deliver a continuous supply in large geographical areas. It is one of our comparative advantages, “added Mafucci.
